- 20000.6 mg of the test item were added to 1000 mL reconstituted test water (dilution water) and stirred on the day of the test start. The test solutions were made by dilution of the stock solution (approx. 20000 mg/L) with reconstituted test water.

- Reconstituted test water, as specified in OECD TG no. 202, was used as dilution water (specified below). In the controls, only reconstituted test water was used. The animals were incubated in glass Petri dishes (50 mL), with 25 mL solution. Four replicates, with five animals in each replicate, were used for both the test concentrations and for the control. The dishes were incubated in a thermo-constant room at a temperature of 21±1° C and subdued light with the light rhythm of 16 hours light: 8 hours darkness. Before the experiment start, pH and oxygen saturation was measured in all the solutions. The numbers of immobilised animals were observed at 24 and 48 hours in all the test dishes. At the end of the experiment pH and oxygen saturation were measured in all the test groups (4 pooled replicates/group).

- Immobility results are presented in the report in the form of a graph. After 24 hours immobility was 0% in the control, 250 and 2500 mg/L treatments, 10% at 5000 mg/L, 85% at 10000 mg/L and 100% at 20000 mg/L. After 48 hours immobility was 0% in the control, 250 and 2500 mg/L treatments, 15% at 5000 mg/L and 100% at 10000 and 20000 mg/L.

The acute toxicity of Reaction mass of 2,2-bis(formyloxymethyl)propane-1,3-diyl diformate and formic acid / Formic acid tech 50% / 902-307-3 to Daphnia magna was determined. The study was carried out according to OECD test guideline. In this study Daphnia magna were exposed to the test material over a test period of 48 hours under static conditions. Nominal exposure concentrations were 0 (control), 1250, 2500, 5000, 10000 and 20000 mg/L. The results of the study were based on the nominal concentrations.

A semi-static GLP study to OECD 202 was carried out to determine the toxicity to aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia). The test substance demonstrated low toxicity to Daphnia in this acute study. The nominal 48 hour EC50 was found to be 7060 mg/L with a NOEC of 2500 mg/L. The test substance should be considered non toxic to Daphnia.
