Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Study period:
05/03/2018-05/07/2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
141 °C

The DSC measurements were performed twice.

The heat flow curves show two endothermal peaks with maxima at 68/68 °C (minor peak)

and 151/151 °C (major peak). Reweighing after the measurement the sample had lost

approx. 1 % of its mass. After cooling, the residue looked molten and was discoloured

yellowish.

Due to its small size, the thermal effect at 68 °C cannot be further interpreted. The second

peak at 140/141 °C (extrapolated onset temperature), respectively 151 °C (peak maximum),

represents the melting of the sample.

Conclusions:
Melting temperature: 141 °C
