Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: In case of discomfort, seek medical advice and show safety
data sheet.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15
minutes. Seek immediate medical attention and show safety
data sheet.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with copious amounts of water and soap.
In case of persistent skin irritation, search medical advice
immediately and show safety data sheet.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, seek medical advice
immediately and show safety data sheet.
In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical
advice immediately (show the label/safety data sheet where
possible).
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Compatible with all conventional extinguishing agents.
Dispose fire residues and contaminated extinguishing agent
according to local official instructions.
Collect contaminated water for fire-fighting separately, do
not empty into drains.
Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear full protective clothing. Wear self-contained breathing
apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Absorb liquid with binding materials (e.g. sand, sawdust,
universal binding agent).
Carefully transfer the spilt material to waste containers
which must be tightly closed and labelled according to TRGS
201. Handle absorbed material according to disposal
management indication.
While taking up the spilt material and cleaning the polluted
area wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see
section "handling").
Provide sufficient ventilation and/or wear suitable
respiratory equipment in case of exposure to vapour/dust/
aerosol.
Avoid the substance from getting into surface waters or the
canalisation.
In case of penetration in surface water, soil or
canalisation, notify responsible agency.
Handling and storage
Handling: Handle only in rooms with suitable suction apparatus.
Personal protective equipment:
- protective gloves (of nitrile or butyl rubber)
- tight-fitting saftey goggles
- face protector
- disposal protective clothing
Wash hands for breaks and at finishing time.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Preventive skin-protection by applicating skin-protection
ointment.
Change contaminated clothing immediately.
Do not eat, drink or smoke in the working area.
Storage: Store the substance in the original packing drums or other
secure containers which are labelled according to the
regulations. Keep them tightly closed and secure them
against falling by taking the appropriate measures.
Avoid residues on the outside of the containers.
Store them dry in a cool, well-ventilated place.
Avoid frost, heat and direct insolation.
Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Lidded steal drum (180 kg)

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: No danger known.
Chemical reaction with water: The substance is hydrolysed fast to 2,2-Dimethyl-3-
lauroyloxy-propanal and the corresponding amine.
Dust explosion: Substance is a liquid.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Sika Härter LH is a reaction product of the two substances
2,2-Dimethyl-3-lauroyloxy-propanal (CAS No. 102985-93-3) and
Hexamethlendiamin (CAS No. 124-09-4, EINECS No. 204-679-6).
Upon contact with water the Härter LH rapidly degrades.
During hardening process Sika Härter LH is hydrolysed to the
aldehyde and corresponding amine component.
The latter reacts and becomes a chemically bound component
of the polymer matrix, in which the aldehyd is integrated
irreversibly.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Acidification
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not known
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not known
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not known
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Not known
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: After use of the preparation the substance (and/or its
hydrolysis products: 2,2-Dimethyl-3-lauroyloxy-propanal and
the corresponding amine) is integrated irreversibly in the
matrix of the hardened adhesive.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not known
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not known
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not known
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not known
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not known
