Description of key information

In accordance with Annex IX of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical (REACH) information regarding the aquatic bioaccumulation is not mandatory for substances manufactured or imported in quantities of less than 100 tonnes per year. Bioaccumulation testing is waived. For completeness, the experimentally determined Log POWfor the test substance, dimethyldioctylammonium chloride (C8DAQ) of 0.1 at 21oC predicts the test substance has a very low potential for bioaccumulation in the aquatic environment and no testing is required. In addition, the test substance may be considered readily biodegradable which may lead to relatively low concentrations of the test substance in the aquatic environment and thus to low concentrations in aquatic organisms.
