- Sponsor batch: E01133-065
Purity: 100 %
Arrival date: 6 March 2017
Re-test date: 31 July 2019
Storage conditions: Refrigerated (2 to 8°C) under nitrogen. The test substance was supplied in a translucent HDPE container and has been stored in this container. The test substance was stored in a fridge, in the dark when not in use. - Key result
- Surface tension:
- 67.3 mN/m
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- Conc.:
- 90 other: nominal 90% saturated solution
- Remarks on result:
- other: nominal 90% saturated solution
- Conclusions:
- Surface tension at 20°C was found to be 67.3 mN/m (nominal 90% saturated solution)
- Executive summary:
The surface tension of the test item at 20°C - conducted under OECD 115 (1995) - was found to be 67.3 mN/m with a nominal 90% saturated solution.
Reference
The apparatus was calibrated with double-distilled water and gave five consecutive surface tension measurements of; 73.0 mN/m after 18 minutes equilibrium at 20°C, which gave a correction factor of 0.9966.
The prepared solution gave five consecutive surface tension measurements of 67.5 mN/m after 10 minutes equilibrium at 20°C, corrected to 67.3 m/N. The surface tension was > 60 mN/m, so the Harkins-Jordan correction was not applied.
Description of key information
The surface tension of the test item at 20°C, conducted under OECD 115 (1995) was found to be 67.3 mN/m with a nominal 90% saturated solution.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Surface tension:
- 67.3
