Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
GENERAL ADVICE
Move out of dangerous area.
Consult a physician.
Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
Do not leave the victim unattended.
IF INHALED
Move to fresh air.
If symptoms persist, call a physician.
If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately.
IN CASE OF SKIN CONTACT
Immediate medical treatment is necessary as untreated wounds from corrosion of the skin heal slowly and with difficulty.
Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
If on skin, rinse well with water.
If on clothes, remove clothes.
IN CASE OF EYE CONTACT
Small amounts splashed into eyes can cause irreversible tissue damage and blindness.
Remove contact lenses.
In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Continue rinsing eyes during transport to hospital.
Protect unharmed eye.
Keep eye wide open while rinsing.
If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
IF SWALLOWED
Keep respiratory tract clear.
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Take victim immediately to hospital.
SYMPTOMS
Skin contact may provoke the following symptoms: Burn, corrosive effects, Redness
Inhalation may provoke the following symptoms: Shortness of breath, Asthma
Ingestion may provoke the following symptoms: Stomach/intestinal disorders
Eye contact: Excessive lachrymation
Fire-fighting measures
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local cir-cumstances and the surrounding environment.
UNSUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
High volume water jet
SPECIFIC HAZARDS DURING FIREFIGHTING
Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS
Metal oxides
Sulphuric acid
Sulphur oxides
SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIREFIGHTERS
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary.
FURTHER INFORMATION
Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.
Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Accidental release measures
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Use personal protective equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS
Prevent product from entering drains.
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.
If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.
METHODS FOR CLEANING UP
Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).
Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
ADVICE ON SAFE HANDLING
Do not breathe vapours/dust.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.
To avoid spills during handling keep bottle on a metal tray.
Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.
ADVICE ON PROTECTION AGAINST FIRE AND EXPLOSION
Normal measures for preventive fire protection.
HYGIENE MEASURES
When using do not eat or drink. When using do not smoke. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.
REQUIREMENTS FOR STORAGE AREAS AND CONTAINERS
Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Observe label precautions. Electrical installations / working materials must comply with the technological safety standards. To maintain product quality, do not store in heat or direct sunlight.
STORAGE CLASS (TRGS 510)
8B, Non-combustible, corrosive hazardous materials

Exposure controls / personal protection
1. Technical protection measures: Handle only in a place equipped with local exhaust (or other appropriate exhaust).
2. Organisational protection measures: Occupational Exposure Limits, Derived No Effect Levels (DNELs) and Predicted No Effect Concentrations (PNECs) based on sulphuric acid (CAS No. 7664-93-9). AGW (inhalable fraction) value is 0.1 mg/m3 (based on DE TRGS 900). TWA (mist) value is 0.05 mg/m3 (based on 2009/161/EU).
3. Hand protection: Nitrile rubber gloves with > 240 min break through time and 0.38 mm thickness
4. Body protection: Impervious clothing
5. Eye protection:Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166. Wear face-shield and protective suit for abnormal processing problems.
Stability and reactivity
CHEMICAL STABILITY
No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.
HAZARDOUS REACTIONS
The product has a corrosive effect on steel and aluminium.
No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.
Disposal considerations
PRODUCT
Do not dispose of waste into sewer.
Dispose of in accordance with the European Directives on waste and hazardous waste.
In accordance with local and national regulations.
Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with chemical or used container.
According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes are not product specific, but application specific.
Waste codes should be assigned by the user, preferably in discussion with the waste disposal authorities.
Send to a licensed waste management company.
CONTAMINATED PACKAGING
Empty remaining contents.
Dispose of as unused product.
Do not re-use empty containers.
