Calculation of EC - values
The reported results are related to the analytical concentrations of the test article. During test duration the test article concentrations in the analysed test media were in the range of 89.0 -137.9 % of the nominal values. Therefore under the test conditions the test article was sufficiently stable. In all test concentrations none alteration of the test substance after 48 hours was observed. In the control and in the test concentrations up to 0.34 mg/l no immobilization of the daphnids was observed after 48 hours. The EC0 value is least 0.34 mg/l. The EC100 value is close to 1.78 mg/l.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- The 48-h EC50 to Daphnia magna was determined at 1.08 mg/L.
- Executive summary:
Method
The acute toxicity of the test substance toDaphnia magnawas determined in a 48-hour static test according to the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals, Section 2, No. 202, adapted 4 April 84, and EEC Directive 84/449, L 251, Part C 2.The study was performed under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) conditions in Switzerland.
Observations
The nominal concentrations tested were 0.058 - 0.10 - 0.18 - 0.32 - 0.58 - 1.0 and 1.8 mg test article /l , and a control without any additions. The reported results are related to the analytical concentrations of the test article. During test duration the test article concentrations in the analysed test media were in the range of 89.0-137.9 % of the nominal values. Therefore, under test conditions the test article was sufficiently stable. In all test concentrations none alteration of the test substance after 48 hours was observed. In the control and in the test concentrations up to 0.34 mg/l no immobilization of the daphnids was observed after 48 hours. The EC0 value is at least 0.34 mg/l. The EC100 values is close to 1.78 mg/l
Conclusion
EC0 = 0.34 mg/l
EC50 = 1.08 mg/l
EC100 > 1.78 mg/l
