Main study

Summarised results of the main study are as follows:

Test  Volume (µL)  Auto-ignition temperature (°C)  Ignition delay (s)  Colour of the flame  Minimum auto-ignition temperature (°C)
 1        35  436  6  orange/blue  414
 70  414  7  orange/blue
 150  417  6  orange/blue
 2

 50

 427  6  orange/blue  426
 100  426  6  orange/blue
 200  431  6  orange/blue
 3        40  442  5  orange/blue  421
 80  421  5  orange/blue
 140  428  5  orange/blue

Ignition of the test item within 5 minutes after introduction was observed with each sample volume and with each test a minimum auto-ignition temperature was obtained. The maximum deviation between the three values was < 20°C. Hence, according to the guidelines, no further testing was required.

The lowest temperature at which ignition of the test item occurred was 414°C. This temperature was rounded down to the nearest multiple of 5°C giving an auto-ignition temperature of the test item of 410°C.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
A commercially available auto-ignition temperature apparatus was used for the determination of the degree of auto-ignitability of JNJ-126971-AAA (T000509).
Based on the results of the test performed, the auto-ignition temperature of the test item is 410°C at 1027.4 - 1030.6 hPa. Hence, the test item is considered ‘auto-ignitable’.
