Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Appearance
The test material is as extremely viscous liquid with no reported odour or colour but has previously been reported as being amber in some cases.
Melting point/freezing point (Pour point)
The pour point of the test item has been determined to be 30 ± 3 °C (303 ± 3 K).
Boiling point
The test item has been determined to decompose from approximately 318 °C (591 K) at 101.7 kPa.
Density
The density of the test item has been determined to be 1070 kg/m3 at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C and a relative density of 1.07.
Vapour pressure
The vapour pressure of the test item has been determined to be 2.1E-03 Pa at 25 °C (extrapolated) and 0.2 Pa at 90 °C (directly measured), using the vapour pressure balance method.
Octanol/water partition coefficient
The partition coefficient was estimated by fragment constant methodolgy using KOWWIN v 1.67. Using the software the test material has been predicted to have a minimum Log Pow of 7.5, this being the monomer of the polymer. With a molecular weight of approximately 1433 the Log Pow was estimated to be 16.06. Since Log Pow greater than 8 are considered to be scientifically unreliable, it was considered that a value of >8 was the most realistic value of partition coefficient.
Water solubility
The water solubility of the test item could not be determined due to its ability to readily disperse and the inability of cleanup to remove the excess.
The water solubility is estimated to be in the range 1.7E-03 to 1.07E-02 g/L by visual inspection. Computer estimation gave a result of 4.97E-06 g/L using a MW = 1433 and 1.43E-09 g/L with a MW of 1418. The substance is predicted to be insoluble in water.
Surface tension
The surface tension of a 90 % saturated solution of test item in water loaded at a nominal 1.1 g/L has been determined to be 53.5 mN/m at 21.0 ± 0.5 °C. The test item was considered to be surface active.
Flammability/Flash point
The substance is not flammable. The flash point of the test item has been determined to be 218 ± 2 °C at 101.325 kPa.
Autoflammability
The test item has been determined to have an auto-ignition temperature of 382 ± 5 °C
Explosivity
Based on the chemical structure of the test material the result for the explosive properties has been predicted negative.
Oxidising properties
Based on the chemical structure the result for the oxidising properties has been predicted negative.
