Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusions:
Calcium 4-[(5-chloro-4-methyl-2-sulfonatophenyl)diazenyl]-3-hydroxy-2-naphthoate is with high probability not acutely harmful to aquatic algae. No toxic effects occur within the range of solubility. This result is read across to the registered substance.

Description of key information

The test item is with high probability not acutely harmful to aquatic algae. No toxic effects occur within the range of solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The effect of the read-across (CAS 7023-61-2) substance on the growth of Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata was investigated in a study following GLP and OECD guideline 201. Due to the low solubility of the read-across substance a water accommodated fraction has been tested. The algae were exposed for 72 hours to the test substance. Based on the algal growth rate an EC50 and EC10 >100 mg/l were determined (BASF SE, 2007).
