Description of key information

Citraconic Anhydride (methylmaleic anhydride) has no physical/chemical properties that require classification. Citraconic Anhydride (methylmaleic anhydride) is a colourless liquid. So: The substance is not an aerosol nor a gas. Citraconic Anhydride has a melting point of 7.5 °C, a boiling point of 214 °C and a density of 1.24. The substance decomposes in water, so water solubility, partition coefficient and surface tension can be waived. The substance is non autoflammable, non flammable, not self-reactive and not self-heating, has no explosive nor oxidising properties. The flashpoint of citraconic anhydride is 111°C. Since citraconic anhydride is an on-site isolated intermediate, further testing is not necessary.
