Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The surface tension of 100% w/w pure hydrogen peroxide at 20 °C was given with 80.4 mN/m.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
80.4

Additional information

The surface tension of 100% w/w pure hydrogen peroxide was extrapolated from experimental values (Phibbs and Giguère 1951). These experimental data resulted from tests on aqueous solutions of hydrogen peroxide (up to 98% w/w) and using the Capillary rise method. The surface tension of 100% w/w pure hydrogen peroxide at 20 °C was given with 80.4 mN/m (Schumb et al. 1955).
