First-aid measures

Immediately remove contaminated clothing.

If inhaled:

Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.

On skin contact:

Wash thoroughly with soap and water.

Wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open. If irritation develops, seek medical attention.

On ingestion:

Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, seek medical attention.

Note to physician:

Treatment: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific

antidote, administer corticosteroid dose aerosol to prevent pulmonary odema.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

carbon dioxide, foam, dry powder

The product is combustible. Cool endangered containers with water-spray.

Special protective equipment:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.

Further information:

Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. Collect contaminated extinguishing water separately, do not allow to reach sewage or effluent systems.

Accidental release measures

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Discharge into the environment must be avoided.

For large amounts: Pump off product.

For residues: Pick up with suitable absorbent material (e.g. sand, sawdust, general-purpose binder, kieselguhr). Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.

Handling and storage

Prevent contact with air/oxygen (formation of peroxide). Store locked up.

Protection against fire and explosion:

Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire extinguishers should be kept handy.

Temperature class: T3 (Autoignition temperature >200 °C).

Further information on storage conditions: Keep under inert gas. Containers should be stored tightly sealed in a dry place.

Storage class according to TRGS 510 (originally VCI, Germany): (10) Combustible liquids (as far as not classes 3).
