- Details on test solutions:
- To accelerate the solution procedure a five fold amount (30 mg/1) of the maximum water solubility of the test substance in the
preliminary test (6 mg/1) was weighed into water, treated for 60 seconds at 8000 rpm.with an ultra-turrax and afterwards stirred
an a magnetic stirrer for 24 hours. To remove undissolved particles, the resulting emulsion was filtered using a folded filter of the
pore size 7-12 gm. - Test organisms (species):

- Executive summary:
For fish (Danio rerio) a LC0 of >= 8.1 mg/l after 96 h was obtained for 4,4-methylenedicyclohexyl diisocyanate. The study was conducted according to Directive 92/69/EEC, C1 (Bayer AG, 2000). The result relates to the arithmetic mean of analytical values.

Description of key information
Acute toxicity to fish (Danio rerio) has been investigated in a limit test under static conditions according to Directive 92/69/EEC, C.1. A concentration of 30 mg/l 4,4’-methylenedicyclohexyl diisocyanate was pretreated before start as described above. A 96 h-LC50 of > 8.1 mg/l was observed (Bayer AG, 2000b). At this concentration level 10 % mortality was detected, however, in a range finding test no mortality occurred at the highest concentration tested of 6 mg/l (nominal).
