Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Freshwater invertebrates:
As a rough estimate a NOEC/LOEC of 3.8/8.1 mg/L can be applied for magnesium acrylate for the survival in the 21 -day Daphnia magna chronic toxicity study based on the 21-day Daphnia magna chronic toxicity study with acrylic acid (see justification for read-across in the attached read across document to the Chemical Safety Report). This value is supported by a NOEC of 7 mg/L for maternal toxicity in a separate 21-day D. magna reproduction test with acrylic acid. Taking into account the molecular weight of magnesium and the lower acute toxicity of magnesium acrylate towards Daphnids the 21 d NOEC would be > 8 mg/l for magnesium acrylate, which corresponds to > 16 mg/l aqueous solution with 48% magnesium acrylate.
Marine water invertebrates:
