Description of key information

The LC50 of quinine sulphate to zebrafish embryos (Danio rerio) is 562.4 mg/l for 96 h. The lowest LC50 for fish calculated by ECOSAR v1.11 is 672g/L derived by calculation from ECOSAR class Benzyl Alcohols.

Additional information

This experimental study was published by Ali, 2012. A test of the toxicity of quinine sulphate on zebrafish embryos Danio rerio was performed in a static system. The LC50 (96 h) of quinine sulphate for zebrafish embryos is 562.4 mg/L. After exposure duration of 24 h, 48 h and 72 h no embryos had died. The short-term toxicity to fish calculated by ECOSAR v1.11 shows that lowest LC50 values for fish, 96 h, is 672 g/L derived by calculation from ECOSAR class Benzyl Alcohols. The calculated LC50 Neutral Organic Structure Analysis Relationship (baseline toxicity) for fish is 2150 g/L.
