Additional information

The readily biodegradability of the test substance was examined in a test (BASF SE, 2008) according to the OECD Guideline 301 B (CO2 evolution test). The biodegradation of the test substance was followed by exposing it to the activated sludge of a munical waste water treatment plant from Mannheim (Germany). The activated sludge concentration was 30 mg/L/dry weight. An inoculum blank, an abiotic sterile control and a toxicity control were conducted inparallel. After 28 days, the test substance was biodegraded by an average of > 10 % - < 20 % CO2, therefore the test substance was found to be not readily biodegradable under the test conditions.

The readily biodegradability of the test substance was examined in a test (BASF SE, 2013) according to the OECD Guideline 301 C (modified MITI test). The biodegradation of the test substance was followed by exposing it to the activated sludge of several city sewage plants (JiangQiao Wastewater Treatment Plant, JinShan Wastewater Marine Disposal Treatment Plant, LangXia Wastewater Treatment Plant) and Industry sewage plant (Sino French water). The inoculum was aerated 25 ± 2 °C at pH 7.0 ± 1.0. The activated sludge concentration was 100 mg/L/dry weight. As a reference compound, sodium benzoate was tested simultaneously under the same conditions. The validity criteria were met. After 28 days the test substance was biodegraded by an average of 0.0 % O2 cosumption, therefore the test substance was found to be not readily biodegradable under the test conditions.
