Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The PBT Assessment is based on the criteria set out in the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment” (ECHA, 2008).

Persistence

The substance is readily biodegradable in a study according to OECD 301D (90% after 28 d). Therefore, the substance does not meet the screening criterion for persistence and it is not considered to be persistent (P) or very persistent (vP).

Bioaccumulation

The substance has a log Kow of 1.1 and threfore does not meet the screening criterion for bioaccumulation and is not considered to be bioaccumulative (B) or very bioaccumulative (vB).

Toxicity

Short term toxicity on fish, daphnia and algae showed no toxicity to the aquatic compartment (EC50 and LC50 > 98 mg/l). NOEC for fish and algae were 54 and 98 mg/l after respectively 96 and 72h. Moreover, the substance is not classified mutagenic, carcinogenic or reprotoxic according to Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (2nd ATP) and there is no evidence of chronic toxicity. Thus, the criteria set out in Annex XIII of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 are not met and the test substance is not considered to meet the T criterion.
