Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Vapour pressure < 1E-5 hPa

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0 hPa
at the temperature of:
138 °C

Additional information

The vapour pressure of Reactive Black 5, the precursor product, was measured in the temperature range of 23°C to 139°C. Due to the fact that the exothermal decomposition starts at 150°C the maximum test temperature was limited to 140°C.

No vapour pressure of the test item above the lower detection limit of 1E-5 hPa was observed in the entire range. The vapour pressure was measured at the following temperatures: 23.2, 47.8, 59.4, 66.6, 73.4, 84.8, 96.6, 108.9, 125.2, 137.3, and 138.8 °C. For every temperature the vapour pressure of the test item was < 1E-5 hPa.

The calculated vapour pressure of Reactive Black 5 -BisVinyl is < 1E-30 hPa
