Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If unwell, seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water. If irritation occurs, seek

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink plenty of water, symptomatic treatment. If unwell,

seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Suitable extinguishing agents are foam, carbon dioxide, dry

powder and water.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and sulfur

oxides together with some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear protective equipment and a self-contained breathing

apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from the immediate vicinity.

Wear protective clothing (cf 2.3.1).

Avoid dust formation for solids. For solutions, absorb with

a suitable inert material (eg sand or soil).

Collect waste by mechanical means or use a sealed industrial

vacuum cleaner. Label waste containers as for the substance.

Dispose of waste by incineration or landfill at controlled

facilities.

Clean the area with large amounts of water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for good industrial hygiene

using engineering controls to reduce exposure. The substance

should be handled in a dust-proof filling apparatus or local

exhaust ventilation used.

When exposure cannot be adequately controlled, use personal

protective equipment, eye protection (eg goggles), chemical

resistant gloves and protective clothing (eg impervious

apron).

If respiratory protective equipment has to be used, a dust

mask conforming to ENI49 FFPI should be worn.

Storage: No special precautions.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Store in unbreakable containers (eg polyethylene bags in

steel drums).

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical treatment is known that will neutralise the

hazardous properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a controlled landfill site is possible (C650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal at an approved incineration facility is possible.

Waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen and sulfur oxides

should be used. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Discharge from dyeing (~2% of total) will enter internal

industrial effluent at high dilution.

Treatment at a pre-purification plant will occur before

discharge.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from dyed material is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, the substance will be available only in

articles.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Articles dyed with the substance may be disposed of as for

domestic use. (C650)

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal of articles at an incineration facility for

domestic waste is possible.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.
