Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Immediately move to fresh air. Consult a physician if
irritating symptoms develop and persist.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with gently running water for 15 minutes,
maintaining eyelids open. Consult an ophthalmologist or
physician.
Emergency measure - Skin: Rinse skin immediately with copious amounts of water.
Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Consult a
physician if any symptoms develop.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Only as long as the patient is fully conscious, wash mouth
and have the victim drink copious amounts of water (often
vomiting will be induced). Consult a physician immediately
or call for an ambulance and show label.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: water, CO2, foam
Product arising from burning: Carbon oxides, Sulfur oxides
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: If there is a risk of fume inhalation, the firemen would
wear breathing apparatus and fire-fighting PPE.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the event of spillage, the material will be collected in
absorbed form on vermiculite particles, sealed in a lined
drum, labelled and incinerated.
Large liquid spillages would be isolated in catchment pits
within the manufacturing area.
Handling and storage
Handling: Engineering:
Local exhaust ventilation with HEPA filtration
The operator will wear PPE defined as follows in the COSHH
Assessment:
+ Tychem-F chemical protective suit. Supplier DuPont.
Compliant with EN465 for chemical protection, and BSEN1149
to ensure antistatic properties.
+ Butoject gloves, supplier KCL. Material of
construction butyl rubber. Compliant with EN374.
+ Air hood, supplier Respirex. Material of construction
PVC. Compliant with EN270 (standard for compressed airline
breathing apparatus incorporating a hood), and EN467 for
protective clothing providing protection to parts of the
body against liquid chemicals.
+ Wellington boots, material of construction PVC.
Compliant with BSEN345.
As described previously the remainder of the process is in
an enclosed system. The process plant comprises sealed
inerted vessels and associated equipment.
Sampling
In-process sampling is classed as an open handling activity.
The operator will use LEV and wear a PVC apron in line
with EN 465, nitrile gloves in line with EN 388 and EN 374
and a visor in line with EN 166B.
Storage: The enclosed substance, suitably labelled, will be stored
under cover in a warehouse unit at ambient temperature until
required for use in the production building. Only the
required amount for one batch will be transferred to the
production building at any one time.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The SPP100 B7 will be supplied in high density polythene
IBC's, 800 kg nett weight held within a metal alloy frame.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None known.
Chemical reaction with water: None known
Dust explosion: not applicable. The substance is viscous but not dry powder.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: There is a possibility that isopropanol may be recovered
from the process although current arrangements are being
made to incinerate this solvent.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: There are no known methods of 'neutralising' SPP100 B7,
other than consuming the material entirely within the
described process.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: All organic waste from the process will be incinerated. By
GCMS analysis, no SPP100 B7 is detected in the aqueous
waste. This aqueous process effluent will be treated within
the on-site effluent treatment plant.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: All organic waste from the process will be incinerated. By
GCMS analysis, no SPP100 B7 is detected in the aqueous
waste. This aqueous process effluent will be treated within
the on-site effluent treatment plant.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable.
