Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Non-persistence of the registration substance has been confirmed. In particular, Bis[2-(octylthio)-ethyl] ether was found to degrade ~53% in 60 days. Bis[2-(octylthio)-ethyl] ether is percieved to be the most recalcitrant constituent of the regsitration substance and results for this constituent can be used as a surrogate for the registration substance. This conclusion of non-persistent was endorsed by UK CA in 2008 within the forum of the ECB TCNES WG for PBT.
