Description of key information

EU Method A.17 for the determination of oxidising properties of solids is followed. Cellulose microcrystalline (average particle size 50 µm) from Acros Organics ( Code 387242500, batch nr. A0321679) has been used for the experiments. Maximum burning rate of the barium nitrate/cellulose was 0.44 mm/s. Maximum burning rate of the lead dioxide/cellulose was 2.36 mm/s. So, lead dioxide can be consedered to have oxidizing properties.
