Additional information

Skin irritation/corrosion:

An in vitro skin corrosion study and in vitro skin irritation study using the Episkin T reconstituted human epidermis model have been performed (Warren 2010). These in vitro methods are validated methods for skin corrosion and irritation and allow full replacement of animal testing.

Eye irritation:

The test material is classified as flammable and, in accordance with Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, it is inappropriate to investigate eye irritation in vertebrate animals. However, results from an in vitro study provide useful confirmation that eye irritation is of minimal concern.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In vitro results indicate that it is unnecessary to classify the substance for skin corrosion, skin irritation or eye irritation under the terms of GHS as reflected by Regulation (EC) 1272/2008.
