First-aid measures
difficult, give oxygen and seek medical advice.
Persons who have inhaled the fumes produced in a fire or a
chemical reaction, may not show immediate symptoms. They
should lie down and be kept under medical observation for 48
hours following exposure.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Immediately wash skin with
soap and plenty of water, then flush skin with water for at
least 15 minutes. If signs of irritation occur seek mdical
attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If conscious, give plenty of water to drink and seek medical
advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen fluoride may be
produced in a fire.

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing and
breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
upwind from the spillage. If possible and without risk to
safety, shut off the source of the spill. Remove sources of
heat, sparks, flame, impact, friction or electricity. Dyke
the spill to prevent material from entering sewers,
waterways or low areas. All clean-up workers should wear
appropriate personal protective equipment as a minimum this
would include: splash goggles, disposable lab coat of low
permeability with cuffs, double gloves, shoe covers and an
approved respirator with high efficiency particulate (HEPA)
filters and vapor cartridges.
Small spills: Wipe up with suitable absorbent material.
Place material and absorbent into sealed containers and
dispose of by incineration in accordance with local
regulations. Ventilate and wash spillage site. All
clean-up workers should wear appropriate personal protective
equipment.
Handling and storage
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure to the
extent where technically possible.
Use engineering controls in the form of local exhaust
wentilation to control vapour at source. Specific areas
should be designated and restricted to persons who are
trained and qualified to work with these materials. Workers
should wear dedicated work clothing and appropriate
personal protective equipment including airline
respirator/air supplied hood/air purifying respirator in
conformance with EN136, safety glasses/chemical splashproof
goggles in conformance with EN166, nitrile/Viton/other
impermeable materail gauntlet style gloves in conformance
with EN374, safety shoes and chemical overalls in
conformance with EN368. Gloves should be changed regularly
and removed after overcontamination. These measures should
be regarded as minimum.
Storage: Store in a dark, cool and dry place. Ensure that containers
are kept closed when not in use. The test substance is
stored in 200 l chemical drums.
