Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2019-11-11 to 2020-02-23
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with national standard methods

according to guideline
Guideline:
other: Guideline VD!2263, sheet 1 (Grewer-oven)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:

Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Batch No.: 2019002
- Purity: 98.39 %
- Physical state: White solid
- Storage conditions: Ambient temperature (10–30 °C)
- Expiry date: 2020-10-21
Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
> 460 °C
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

1.9 g of the test item were placed into the wire-basket. The temperature of the test item followed behind the oven temperature starting at an oven temperature of approx. 30 °C. ln the temperature range of 200 to 240 °C an endothermal effect was observed. No exothermal effect was observed until the maximum temperate of the measurement (460 °C). After the test the basket was empty. As no exothermal process was observed further testing was not necessary.

Conclusions:
In a study conducted according to the guideline VDI 2263, sheet 1 (Grewer-Oven), no self-ignition temperature was observed up to 460 °C.
Executive summary:

A GLP study conducted according to the guideline VDI 2263, sheet 1 (Grewer-Oven), showed that no self-ignition temperature was observed up to 460 °C (final oven temperature). Due to these results the test item does not have to be classified as as self-heating substance, class 4.2 of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods / Manual of Tests and Criteria and according to chapter 2.11 of the CLP Regulation 1272/2008.

Description of key information

N-(4-((4-(3-phenylureido)phenyl)sulfonyl)phenyl)benzenesulfonamide shows no self-ignition within the relevant temperature range (≤ 460 °C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A GLP study conducted according to the guideline VDI 2263, sheet 1 (Grewer-Oven), showed that no self-ignition temperature was observed up to 460 °C (final oven temperature). Due to these results the test item does not have to be classified as self-heating substance, class 4.2 of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods/Manual of Tests and Criteria and according to chapter 2.11 of the CLP Regulation 1272/2008.
