Description of key information

The substance has a 56-d NOEC of >6.5 mg/kg soil dw (OECD 222, Eisenia fetida).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A GLP chronic toxicity study conducted according to OECD guideline 222 with Eisenia fetida as a test organism is available for epoxiconazole. Eight test concentrations (0.11, 0.19, 0.34, 0.62, 1.11, 2.0, 3.6, 6.48 mg /kg dry soil) were incorporated into the soil (10% peat) with four replicates per treatment (each containing 10 worms). The test substance did not show any statistically significant effects on mortality, body weight and reproduction. The mortality of adult worms ranged between 0 – 5.0% in the test item treated groups and 2.5% in the control group. The weight change of adult worms was 27.3 – 32.4% in the test item treated groups and 28.2% in the control group. The 56 -d NOEC(reproduction) was determined to be >6.5 mg/kg soil dw (Friedrich. Rep.no.: 2005/1112620, 2005).
