Analysis of the chemical structure reveals some alerts for oxidising properties. The calculated chemical oxygen balance is negative, indicating that the substance might not be capable of causing fire or enhancing the risk of fire when in contact with combustible materials.
Based on this evaluation, DMPPA_701-402-5 is considered to be non-oxidising and therefore is not to be tested experimentally to fulfil the data requirements for Regulation 1907/2006/EEC (REACH) or for the classification under section 5.1 as oxidising substances (UN RTDG) or as an oxidising substance according to Regulation EC 1272/2008 (CLP).

Screening evaluation
No experimental test data according to EU Method A.17 (solids) and A.21 (liquids) or comparable methods for DMPPA_701-402-5 are available. Considering that oxidising properties are associated with the presence of certain chemical groups in the molecule, a screening evaluation can be conducted aimed to identify the presence of such reactive groups within the molecular structure harvesting the capability for a rapid high energy release.
Analysis of the molecular structure revealed, that no alert structures are present in the molecule.
In main component 1 oxygen is present in form of a hydroxymethyl-group, an oxo-propyl-group and a dimethoxy group. In main component 2, oxygen is present in form of an oxo-propyl-group and a dimethoxy group within the molecule.
Calculation of the oxygen balance according to the above-mentioned formula is -106.09 for main constituent 1 and -105.99 for main constituent 2 and therefore indicates that there is a surplus of carbon in the molecule for a complete reaction.
