Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Skin corrosion/irritation

Experimental data on the potential of skin corrosion or irritation of 2,4-Disulfamyl-5-TMSA are not available.

In the classification provided by companies to ECHA in CLP notifications the substance causes serious eye irritation, causes skin irritation and may

cause respiratory irritation.

QSAR Toolbox, has identified one structural alert for skin irritation /corrosion. Substances with "Aromatic amines" as structural alert can cause

irritation of the skin if they are in the domains of applicability of the model proposed by Hulzebos et al..

The physicochemical property are used to define the domain of applicability, so the MW of 2,4 -Disulfamyl-5-TMSA is ca. 319.283 g/mol and the

predicted Log Kow is -0.188 (KOWWIN Program (v1.68)) and -0.32 predicted by VEGA; therefore, the compound is outside the applicability domain.

In order to estimates skin corrosion and irritation potential from physicochemical property ranges and structural rules, the software Toxtree

has been used and the substance has been predicted as Not Irritating or Corrosive.

Moreover, the Danish QSAR database contains information indicating that the substance is predicted for the “Severe Skin Irritation in Rabbit”

with the following results:

- NEG IN NEG IN NEG_OUT NEG_IN

(negative inside applicability domain, positive outside applicability domain)

Overall, available information are judged as inconclusive for the classification of the substance.

Serious eye damage/eye irritation

Experimental data on the potential of eye damage/eye irritation of 2,4-Disulfamyl-5-TMSA are not available.

In the classification provided by companies to ECHA in CLP notifications the substance causes serious eye irritation, causes skin irritation and may

cause respiratory irritation. Overall, available information are judged as inconclusive for the classification of the substance.

Specific target organ toxicity - single

Experimental data are not available. In the classification provided by companies to ECHA in CLP notifications the substance causes serious eye irritation, causes skin irritation and may cause respiratory irritation. Overall, available information are judged as inconclusive for the classification of the substance.
