Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Test substance is a Pale yellow crystalline solid at 20°C and 1013 hPa.

Melting Point: The melting temperature of SETAFIX 1077 was determined to be 85°C – 87°C (358K - 360K).

Boiling Point: Boiling point of the test substance was not observed. Reaction or decomposition of the test substance was observed above approximately 243°C (516K).

Density: The density of SETAFIX 1077 is 1.25g/cm³

Granulometry: The testing conducted to determine the Particle size analysis produced the following results:

Manual sieve analysis indicated that 43.5 % by weight of the sample had a particle size of < 850 μm.

A subsequent laser diffraction analysis on the < 850 μm sample produced the following results:

Average Volume %: 100.0

Mean (micrometres): 452.1

Median (micrometers): 509.2

Mode (micrometers): 859.9

95 % Conf. limit (micrometers): 160 -1270

S.D.: 1.7

< 10 % of material is 212.1 micrometers

< 25 % of material is 333.5 micrometers

< 50 % of material is 509.2 micrometers

< 75 % of material is 688.8 micrometers

< 90 % of material is 811.2 micrometers

Vapour Pressure: The value of the vapour pressure of SETAFIX 1077 at 20°C was determined to be: 0.019 (+/-0.3) Pa at 20°C.

Partition Coefficient Octanol/water: The Pow value for the major component in SETAFIX 1077 is 18000 (log Pow= 5.2) at 24.5 ± 0.5 °C.

Water Solubility: Water solubility of the substance was measured at 0.0000088g/L (< 0.10 mg/L)

Surface tension: According to COLUMN 2 Specific Rules For Adaptation From Column 1 set out in Section 7.6, Annex VII of REACH, if the water solubility is below 1.0 mg/L at 20°C the test does not need to be conducted.

The water solubility of the substance is below 1 mg/L, therefore it is not possible to satisfactorily measure the surface tension of the substance. Water solubility of the test substance is just 8.8 μg/L (8.8 x 1E-0·6 g/L) at 19.5 ± 1.0°C, so this study can be waived.

Flash point: According to General Rules For Adaptation of the Standard Testing Regime set out in Annexes VII to X (Section 2 of Annex XI of REACH) testing does not appear scientifically necessary. The flash point is only a relevant property for liquids, thus it does not need to be done for substances that are solids or gases at room temperature. The test substance is a solid at room temperature and therefore flash point is not justified in this case.

Auto Flammability: No self-ignition of the test substance was observed

Flammability:

Flammability test: Result is that the substance is considered "NOT highly Flammable" as the test substance failed to ignite under test conditions.

Pyrophoricity test: Substance does not contain groups that might lead to spontaneous ignition a short time after coming in contact with air at room temperature.

Flammability in contact with water test: Substance does not contain groups that might lead to evolution of highly flammable gases in dangerous quantities.

Explosiveness: SETAFIX 1077 is not an explosive.

Oxidising Properties: SETAFIX 1077 has no oxidising properties.
