First-aid measures

In general, in case of doubt or persisting symptoms, always call a physician.

NEVER make an inconscious person ingest anything.

4.1. Description of first aid measures

First-aid measures after inhalation: Take victim to fresh air, in a quiet place and if necessary take medical advice.

First-aid measures after skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water removing at the same time all contaminated clothes. In case of redness or irritation, call a doctor. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

First-aid measures after eye contact: Rinse eyes with water as a precaution during 15 to 20 minutes.

First-aid measures after ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth out with water. If symptoms persist call a doctor and show him the label.

4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Symptoms/effects after skin contact: Irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction.

4.3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

5.1. Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray. Foam. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry powder.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water jet

5.2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Hazardous decomposition products in case of fire: Carbon oxides (CO, CO2). Nitrogen oxides. Various hydrocarbon fragments.

5.3. Advice for firefighters

Firefighting instructions: Prevent fire fighting water from entering the environment.

Protection during firefighting: Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment. Self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

For non-emergency personnel, Emergency procedures: Avoid contact with skin. Only qualified personnel equipped with suitable protective equipment may intervene.

For emergency responders, Protective equipment: Concerning personal protective equipment to use, see section 8.

Environmental precautions

Do not allow product to spread into the environment.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

For containment: Take up liquid spill into absorbent material, e.g.: sand/earth/vermicullite/diatomaceous earth. Put into a labelled container and provide safe disposal. Prevent entry into drains, sewers, and waterways.

Other information: Dispose of contaminated materials in accordance with current regulations.

Avoid the use of solvents. Clean preferencially with a detergent.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Precautions for safe handling: Avoid contact with skin.

Hygiene measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands after use.

Fire prevention: Prohibit access to unauthorised persons

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Storage conditions: Keep in away from light, heat, humidity, in an hermetically closed container between 15 and 25°C.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls:

Use clean and well maintaned individual protective equipment. Store the individual protective equipment in a clean place, away from the work zone. During use, do not eat, drink or smoke. Take off and wash contaminated clothes before re-use. Work in a well-ventilated area.

Hand protection:

Wear suitable gloves in case of repeated or prolongated contact with hands. Recommended glove type: nitrile rubber (butadiene-acrylonitril copolymer NBR), tested to EN374. Breakthrough time : refer to the recommendations of the supplier.

Eye protection:

Avoid contact with eyes. Use eyes protection against splashed liquid. Before any manipulation, it is necessary to wear safety goggles compliant with the NF EN166 standard.

Skin and body protection:

Protective clothing. After contact with skin, all the contaminated body parts must be thouroughly washed.

Wear anti-slip shoes in order to prevent slip and fall accidents.

Respiratory protection:

In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No data available

Chemical stability: Stable at ambient temperature and under normal conditions of use.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No data available.

Conditions to avoid: Contact with air, heat..

Incompatible material: Oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products: thermic decomposition can generate carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2).

Disposal considerations

The substance wastes and/or its packaging shall be delt in accordance with the 2008/98/CE directive provisions.

Waste treatment methods: Do not spill in the sewage or watercourses.

Wastes: the waste treatment shall be done without endangering human health and environment, especially without creating any risks for the water, air, soil, fauna and flora.

Recycle or eliminate in accordance with local regulations, preferentially by a collector or a approved eliminator. Do not contaminate soil or water with wastes, do not proceed with their elimination in the environment.

Contaminated packaging: Empty completely the packaging. Keep the label on the packaging. Elimination shall be done by an approuved eliminator.
