Purity: 97.3 % - Key result
- Remarks on result:
- no flash point - measurement carried out until boiling temperature
- Remarks:
- Heating was performed up to 199. °C. At this temperature, boiling was observed and the experiment was stopped.
- Interpretation of results:
- GHS criteria not met
- Conclusions:
- No flash point was found for the test item up to the boiling temperature.
- Executive summary:
A study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.9, OPPTS 830.6315 and UN Test Method 32.4 to determine flash point of the test item using a non-equilibrium closed cup method. Two safety test with approx. 3 mL test item were performed. The test item's appearance didn't change. A pre-test with 70 mL test item was performed using Pensky-Martens apparatus. The test item was heated up to 199 °C. At this temperature, boiling was observed and the experiment was stopped.
No flash point could be determined up to the boiling point of the test item.
Reference
Safety test 1
The test item appearance did not changed after cooling down. The piece of brass was copper coloured.
Safety test 2
Formation of bubbles was observed at 230 °C with no signs for decomposition or polymerisation.
Pre-Test
In the pre-test, no flash point was detected. Heating was performed up to 199 °C. At this temperature, boiling was observed and the experiment was stopped. After cooling down the test item appeared yellow-green.
Description of key information
No flash point up to the boiling point was observed.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
