Description of key information

Bioconcentration and bioaccumulation of zinc neodecanoate, basic are most accurately evaluated by separately assessing the fate of its constituents zinc and neodecanoate.

Zinc:

Zinc is an essential element which is actively regulated by organisms, so bioconcentration/bioaccumulation is not considered relevant for inorganic zinc substances.

Neodecanoate:

Based on a reliable bioconcentration test of neodecanoic acid, a mean bioconcentration factor (BCF) < 225 L/kg wet fish weight was determined after 14 days of exposure. Thus, neodecanoic acid does not appear to have a high potential to bioaccumulate in aquatic ecosystems. A similar low potential may be assumed for soil organisms.
