  Evaluation

The mean between both determinations gives the following pH-value:

pH-value (1% test substance):                                               2.01

Difference (1% test substance):                                             0.00

Validity

¨            The values of the single determinations showed no difference; therefore the demanded range of 0.10 is fulfilled.

¨            The pH of the standard buffer solution, pH = 9.180 was determined with no difference to the stated literature value

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The determination was performed in duplicate.

Calibration of the pH-meter was performed using three buffer solutions of pH 4.006, 6.865, and 9.180, respectively.
In the control measurement, the pH-value of the standard buffer solution, pH 9.180 lay within the accepted range.

The pH-value of the 1% test item solution at 25.0 ± 0.3 °C was determined as 2.0.
