Description of key information

There are no studies available for the determination of the stability of the substance. However, there are reliable data available for the read-across substance, didecyldimethyl ammonium chloride (DDAC).

The hydrolytic stability of the read-across substance (DDAC) was determined during a definitive test conducted over 30 days at pH 5, 7 and 9.  The calculated half-lives were all greater than 175 days indicating the test substance was hydrolytically stable under the conditions of the test.  Supporting thin-layer chromatography (TLC) analysis indicated less than 10% decrease in C14 activity in the parent test substance.

In accordance with Annex X of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical (REACH) information regarding the phototransformation in air, as well as in water and soil is not mandatory and further stability testing is waived.
