Description of key information

A study with the registered substance following the OECD guidance 202 and GLP was performed by the Ministry of Environment in Japan. The EC50 after 48h of exposure was found to be 38 mg/l. Furthermore a QSAR analysis by the Canadian authorities shows similar results for the 48h EC50, using ECOSAR models the prediction is found to be 11.17 mg/L. Ultimately the Danish QSAR database showed similar results with values of 10.842 mg/L for the 48h EC50.

The measured 96 hour LC50 for rainbow trout was found to be a mean 6.0 ppm with confidence limits ranging 5.5-8.6 ppm and for bluegill sunfish the mean 8.1ppm with confidence limits ranging 7.4-9.0 ppm. A study with the registered substance following the OECD guidance 201 and GLP was performed by the Ministry of Environment in Japan. The EC50 after 72h of exposure was found to be 22 mg/L while the NOEC was 4.6 mg/L. Furthermore a QSAR analysis by the Canadian authorities shows similar results with the 96h EC50, using ECOSAR models, is found to be 8.30 mg/L. Ultimately the Danish QSAR database showed similar results with values of 11.972 mg/L for the 96h EC50. Based on this information, according to the guidance, the substance is to be classified as Aquatic Acute Category 3.
