Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The benzoate reference is cited in UN Concise International Chemical Assessment Document 26 on Sodium Benzoate and other references confirm low toxicity to Daphnia and other invertebrates

As Lithium metal did have an effect on Daphnia with an EC25 of 3.33 mg/l, an EC50 of 4 mg/l is used to estimate the figure for lithium benzoate; at 6% by weight of Li, the EC50 of lithium benzoate is estimated as ca 70 mg/l
