The test item has been determined not to have a relative self-ignition temperature below 400 °C.


 


The test item was a dark blue powder. Whilst heating the test item, no relevant exothermic reaction/self-heating of the sample has been observed. On completion of the test, the test item was a pale yellow powder.

No self ignition was observed in the study up to 400 °C.
Executive summary:

The substance was tested for self ignition using the EU A.16 methodology. 


 


A temperature programmed laboratory oven with a Eurotherm temperature controller was use with a wire mesh cube insert. The oven temperature was programmed to increase from ambient to 400 °C at a rate of 0.5 °C/min. 


 


If an exothermic reaction of the test item appears, the sample thermocouple shows a sharp temperature rise above the oven temperature. The temperature of the oven at which the sample reaches 400 °C by self-heating is stated as the self-ignition temperature of the test item.


 


No self ignition of the test item was observed in the study up to 400 °C.
