Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation: interrupt exposure and move the exposed person to fresh air. Keep the patient warm. According to situation rinse mouth or nose with water.

Skin contact: remove contaminated clothing. Remove rings, watches or bracelet before rinsing, if they are in the affected area. Rinse the affected area thoroughly with plenty of water at least 10 minutes. If the skin is damaged, cover it with sterile bandage.

Eye contact: If the patient wears contact lenses, remove them immediately. Rinse eyes immediately with plenty of water with open eyelids for at least 15 minutes.

Ingestion: Rinse the mouth with water. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING – Induced vomiting may cause complications wirh GIT. If the patient is conscious and does not have cramps, give him cold water to drink. Don´t urge the patient to drink, especially if he has pain in mouth or neck. If he is unconscious, make sure that air ways aren´t obstructed.Don´t administer activated charcoal or food.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media – For small fire use suitable media: alcohol foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder. For large fire use water in form of mist or spray.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture – the substance is very flammable. Vapour mixt with air may be explosive. Combustion results in carbon dioxide, toxic carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides.

Advice for firefighters – special protective equipment for firefighters: fire-fighting clothing and a breathing apparatus. Chemical protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus in case of fire.

Accidental release measures

Safety precautions for the personnel and persons responding to an emergency situation: use personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions: prevent entry into soil, watercourses or sewers. Take precautions to prevent rinsing water from entering soil, watercourses or sewers.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Cover spilt liquid with sorption material suitable for agressive materials, (sand,...) Sweep the material into original or compatible containers. Seal, label, and discharge the material to be disposed of as hazardous waste. Rinse the residual material with water.

Handling and storage

The substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4).
Specifically the substance is rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle; procedural and control technologies are used to minimise emissions and any resulting exposures; only properly trained and authorised personnel handle the substance; special procedures such as purging and washing are applied during cleaning and maintenance works, in cases of accident and where waste is generated, procedural and/or control technologies are used to minimise emissions and the resulting exposures; and substance-handling procedures are well documented and strictly supervised by the site operator.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: keep in well-closed original containers in a dry, well-ventilated place at room temperature.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters: no permissible exposure limits (PEL) or maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) have been established.

Exposure controls: avoid electrostatic discharge. Use personal protective equipment when handling the substance.

Appropriate engineering controls: not required.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment – eye/face protection: safety goggles, hand protection: protective gloves, other skin protection: protective clothing and footwear; respiratory protection: face mask with a dust filter or a respirator for organic vapor; thermal hazards: not applicable.

Environmental exposure controls: the substance does not present significant environmental risk. Prevent dust from entering the air. Prevent the substance from entering soil, watercourses or sewers. The substance should be handled in compliance with all regional environmental protection regulations.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: there is no information on reactivity hazards

Chemical stability: the substance is stable when stored and handled under specified conditions

Possibility of hazardous reactions: no data available

Conditions to avoid: no data available

Incompatible materials: strong acids, chlorine acid salts, organic acid anhydrides, strong oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products: dangerous gases, such as carbon oxides and nitrogen oxides, are produced during combustion or thermal decomposition

Disposal considerations

The substance should be disposed of in a hazardous waste incinerator with a gas scrubber in compliance with regional waste disposal regulations. Containers should be rinsed thoroughly with water and recycled or disposed of as waste.

Waste container: for example, a plastic bag inserted in a paper box.
