Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General Information:
Remove contaminated, soaked clothing immediately and dispose of safely.
After Inhalation
Get medical aid immediately. Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
After Contact with skin:
Remove all contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash exposed skin with plenty of soap and water for atleast 15 minutes. Get medical aid.
After Contact with eyes:
Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, Occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical attention if irritation persists
After Ingestion:
Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician or poison control center immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing agents:
Water spray, dry chemical, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Foam
- Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases:
In the event of fire the following may be released: Carbon monoxide (CO)
- Protective equipment:
In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Additional information:
Contain the spread of the fire-fighting media. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.
Accidental release measures
- Person-related safety precautions:
Avoid contact with spilled product or contaminated surfaces. Use personal protective equipment.
- Measures for environmental protection:
Do not allow to get into surface water, drains and ground water.
- Measures for cleaning/collecting:
Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. vermiculite, sand or eath)
Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.
Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling.
Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.
Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
Avoid ingestion and inhalation.
Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary)
Storage:
Store in the original container only.
Advice on storage arrangements
Do not store together with foodstuffs or animal feedstock.
Keep container dry in a cool, well-ventilated place
Protect from direct sunlight.
Protect from frost.

Exposure controls / personal protection
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Hygiene measures:
Do not eat or drink during work time.
Remove soiled clothing immediately.
Clean hands and face at work intervals and after work.
Work in an adequately ventilated room.
Respiratory protection:
For splash, spray or mist exposure wear, as a minimum, a properly fitted half-face or full-face air-purifying respirator with organic vapor cartridge.
Respirator use and selection must be based on airborne concentrations. For unknown or emergency situations, use a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Protective Clothing:
Depending upon concentrations encountered, wear coveralls or long-sleeved uniform and head covering. For larger exposures as in the case of spills, wear full body cover barrier suit, such as a PVC suit.
Leather items - such as shoes, belts and watchbands - that become contaminated should be removed and destroyed. Launder all work clothing before reuse (separately from household laundry).
Eyes & Face protection:
For splash, mist or spray exposure, wear chemical protective goggles or a face shield.
Full-face respirators provide eye protection where vapors may be encountered.
Engineering Controls:
Use process enclosure, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to control airborne levels.
Stability and reactivity
Chemical stability:
Stable under normal temperatures and pressures
Conditions to avoid:
Heat, Flames & sparks
Incompatibilities with other materials:
Strong oxidizing agents
Hazardous Decomposition products:
Irritating and toxic fumes and gases
Disposal considerations
