Additional information

Acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed with the structurally highly related substance Basazol Yellow 8511 (CAS 118208-02-9) which is the chloride salt instead of the methane sulfonic acid salt. Fish (Danio rerio) turned out to be the most sensitive species revealing an LC50 (96 h) of 2.86 mg/L. Effects towards Daphnia magna provided an EC50 (48 h) of 3.13 mg/L. The EC50 (72 h) determined for algae was 97 mg/L. Thus, the test substance is considered acutely toxic for aquatic organisms.

Chronic tests with Basazol Yellow 8511 (CAS 118208-02-9) were performed for fish and daphnia. The fish studies resulted in the lower NOEC of =0.1 mg/L whereas 0.22 mg/L was determined for Daphnia magna.
