Description of key information

In three different aerobic screening studies, dodecyl lactate or combinations of long chain alcyl lactates, linear and branched, proved to be readily biodegradable.

Supporting tests with other alkyl lactates or long chain alcohols confirm the high potential for biodegradation of the product for registration.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

All main constituents of the test material, the C16 lactate and alcohol, are considered as readily biodegradable.
