Acute toxicity tests for fish, daphnids, and aquatic algae were conducted for ethyl 3-ethoxypropanoate. The key parameters for acute toxicity tests with fish, daphnids, and algae were 60.9 mg/L (geometric mean of 96 -hour LC50 values for fathead minnows), 873 mg/L (geometric mean of 48 -hour EC50 values for D. magna), and >114.86 mg/L (72-hour EC50 for P.subcapitata based on growth rate). Of these toxicity values, the 96-hour LC50 of 60.9 mg/L for fathead minnows was the lowest value reported, and this data point was used in the development of the PNECaqua.
