Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on its structure DNNDSA is expected to be surface active. Experimental determination of the logKoc value using the HPLC method is not appropriate for surface active substances. Therefore the log Koc for DNNDSA that will be used for the environmental assessment will be 0.73, the average of the 3 values estimated by QSAR modelling.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
5.41

Additional information

There are experimental and QSAR approaches for the determination of the Soil Adsorption Coefficient (Koc). REACH guidance (Chapter R.7a, 2012) indicates that calculation should be the first step in estimating the Koc.

The Guidance document (Chapter R.7a, 2012) recommends estimates be made using multiple models for a sensitivity check, therefore, a calculation of the Koc was conducted using the EPIWIN model KOCWIN and the models developed by Sabljic et al. (1995) which are described in TGD Part III (2003) and utilized by EUSES.
