Description of key information

FAT 21095 is considered to be not biodegradable.

Additional information

The test material is designed to be used as a dye for diverse textile fabrics. To ensure high performance and quality of the treated fabric, those classes of chemical substances are designed to be not biodegradable by microorganisms. Nevertheless, biological elimination of FAT 21095/A was tested in the past and showed 3 % of degradation after 31 days, according to a guideline which is equivalent or similar to OECD test guideline 303 A (confirmatory test). The BOD5/COD quotient calculated using data from two individual studies (BOD: 0 mg/g O2;COD: 1019.61 mg O2/g) is equal to 0, indicating the test substance as not rapidly biodegradable. Therefore, the test substance FAT 21095 is considered to be not biodegradable.
