Description of key information

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the study does not need to be conducted. The substance is a mixed iron(III) / iron(II) oxide which will not react exothermally with flammable substances due to its chemical structure. The Fe2+ ion has an even lower oxidation potential than the Fe3+ ion which, in turn, is considerably lower than the potential of the reference substances used in UN method O.1 or EC method A17. Therefore, this compound does not have any oxidizing properties.
