Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling point/boiling range)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The practical test performance was based on the in-house test procedure VTA(S)31X93002.02: "Boiling temperature determination (Tb) of solid and liquid substances by means of DSC".
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Boiling pt.:
369 °C
Atm. press.:
1 012 mBar
Decomposition:
yes
Remarks on result:
other: earliest boiling, from 369 °C the test item show thermal decomposition

Study Results:

The test item shows a boiling earliest at ca. 369 °C (at 1012 mbar) according to the definition in the OECD Guideline 103.

From 369 °C the test item shows a boiling and / or thermal decomposition with evaporation of the decomposition components.

The DSC measurements were confirmed by means of TGA measurements (no significant weight reduction below the main weight loss) under the same measuring conditions.

The start of the area of boiling temperatures is defined by using the on-set temperature.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Study period:
2012-03-01
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study without detailed documentation

The boiling point is average of two extrapolated onset temperatures in two runs: 368.17 °C = mean (363.75 °C, 372.58 °C)

Onset temperatures: 347.28 °C, 334.07 °C, mean 340.68 °C.

Peak temperatures: 380.63, 375.94, mean 378.29 °C.
