Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: Remove from exposure immediately. If breathing has stopped, perform artificial respiration and get immediate medical advice/attention. Keep person warm and at rest. Seek medical advice/attention if symptoms persist.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash affected skin area with water and soap and rinse thoroughly until no evidence of chemicals remains. Seek medical advice/attention if irritation persists.
Eye Contact: Check for and remove any contact lenses. Immediately wash eyes with large amounts of water of normal saline, occasionally lifting upper lid and lower lids, for several minutes until no evidence of chemcials remains. Get medical advice/attention.
Ingestion: Get medical advice/attention if needed. If vomiting occurs, keep head lower than hips to prevent aspiration.
Fire-fighting measures
Flash point: Not applicable
Auto Ignition Temperature: Not applicable
Flammable limits in Air-lower: Not applicable
Flammable limits in Air-upper: Not applicable
Fire and explosion hazards: Negligible fire hazard when exposed to heat or flame.
Unusual hazards: None
Hazardous combustion products: Thermal decomposition may release toxic and/or hazardous gases.
Fire-fighting extinguishing media: Extinguish using agent suitable for type of surrounding fire.
Fire-fighting instructions: No acute hazard. Move container from the fire area if possible. Avoid breathing vapours or dust. Keep upwind.
Protective Equipment for Firemen: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device and protective clothing.
Accidental release measures
Occupational spill: Use clean-up methods that avoid dust generation (vacuum wet). Contain liquid or dry material and place in suitable clean, dry conntainers for reclamation or later disposal. Do not flush material into sewer. Keep unnecessary people away.
Handling and storage
Signal word: Caution
Handling information: Avoid formation of dust. Observe applicable national and regional, state and local provisions when handling or storing this substance.
Storage: Store away from incompatible substances (none identified).
