Justification for classification or non-classification
The boiling point range for 2 -methylbutane is 25 to 65oC and the flashpoint is 0oC. According to the CLP legislation (2008) a liquid with a flash point of <23oC and a boiling point of <35oC is classifiable as a Category 1 with the hazard statement "extremely flammable liquid and vapour".
The boiling point range for cyclopentane is 48 to 50oC and the flashpoint is -20oC. According to the CLP legislation (2008) a liquid with a flash point of <23oC and a boiling point of >35oC is classified as a Category 2 flammable liquid with the hazard phrase "highly flammable liquid and vapour".
The boiling point for n-pentane is 28 to 70oC and the flashpoint is -20oC. According to the CLP legislation (2008) a liquid with a flash point of <23oC and a boiling point of <35oC is classifiable as a Category 1 flammable liquid with the hazard phrase "extemely flammable liquid and vapour".
The boiling point range for hydrocarbons C5 is 14 to 50°C and the flashpoint is -20°C.
