The density value expressed in IS units is 2082.5 kg/m3.
The relative density value atwas calculated according to the following formula:
0.9982 x (W4 - W3)
Density (g/mL) = = ______________________
WE - (W5 - W4)
where:
W1 = Weight of thevolumetric flaskfor WE determination (g)
W2 = Weight of thevolumetric flaskfilled with water (g)
WE = W2 - W1
W3 = Weight of thevolumetric flask(g)
W4 = Weight of thevolumetric flaskwith an amount of the sample (g)
W5 = Weight of thevolumetric flaskwith an amount of the sample and filled

0.9982 Tabulated value for the specific gravity of distilled water at(g/mL)
The specific gravity of the test item atis determined by the ratio between the mass of a volume of the substance and the mass of the same volume of water. It was obtained according to the following formula:
density (g/mL)
Specific Gravity = _______________
0.9982 (g/mL)
Since the density of distilled water atis 1.0000 g/mL, the relative density, (D204) defined as the ratio between the mass of a volume of the substance atand the mass of the same volume of water at, is the dimensionless numeric value of the density.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- From the experimental data obtained using CIPAC method MT 3.2 (iii) suitably modified taking into account the high test item viscosity, it can be concluded that the density of the Fatty Acid, Tall-Oil, Reaction Products with Diethylenetriamine, Maleic Anhydride, Tetraethylenepentamine and Triethylenetetramine sample is 2.0825 g/mL (2082.5 kg/m3) at 20°C; the specific gravity is 2.0863 at 20°C, and the relative density (D204) is 2.0825.
